Laver & Wood carefully select the finest willow from England for the bat blades, and the finest Manua cane handles from their factory in Indonesia and as such expect the majority of their bats to be good enough to be used at International level.

Laver & Wood bats are finished to the highest standards. Each bat is expertly pressed to gain the best from each cleft of willow, then is partially oiled before being polished to a glass like finish front and back. The exact shape will vary depending on the bat model you select and where you choose to have the sweet spot located.

All Laver & Wood cricket bats are hand made in New Zealand by master bat maker James Laver to each customers exact specification and are shipped directly to you in about seven working days by secure, insured international delivery. All Laver & Wood cricket bats (except Carbo - Chruchill) come with a luxury padded bat cover. Each bat has two coats of oil applied before being shipped from the factory, leaving you to apply a third coat and then start the knocking in process, full details of which are supplied with each and every bat we supply. A complete oiling and knocking in service is available for an extra £25. Laver & Wood cricket bats now come with their "Lamitoe", a feature designed to help prevent serious toe splitting when striking the ball in the toe area of the bat. Extra Toe Guards (£5) and clear antiscuff faces (£5) can also be factory supplied and fitted to help protect your investment in quality.
By buying a Laver and Wood bat you are making a serious investment in quality, you also have the option of having your bat made to your exact specification at no extra cost. You can specify shape, blade length, handle length (SSH, SH or LH) and style (round or oval), curvature of the bow or flat face and just about anything else imaginable. Laver & Wood cricket bats are delivered directly to you from the maker in New Zealand, as such they pass through UK customs and are often levied a duty and taxation charge of around £25, depending on the value of the item(s). This extra payment is NOT covered in the purchase price of the bat and must be paid by the person receiving the equipment, usually prior to or at the time of delivery by the courier. Please be aware of this possible extra cost and factor it in on your budget before deciding to make your purchase.

                                                                 strength and protection. A thin
                                                                 section of hardwood is
                                                                 inserted about 1cm into the
                                                                 toe, then subsequently if the

toe takes a blow and splits, the crack does not go all the way through the wood but stops at the insert and can easily be repaired to return the bat to perfect working condition without compromising the performance.
Laver & Wood cricket bats (like most other bats) require knocking in and oiling. This is a job that you can do yourself, but it is tedious and time consuming and is often not done properly. Laver & Wood want you to experience the optimum performance from your new bat and offer a complete oiling and knocking in service, so your bat will be ready for use as soon as you receive it. The price for this manufacturers professional knocking in service (only available at the time of ordering) is an additional £25 and the delivery time will be extended by 4-5 days. Should you require a toe guard and antiscuff face these can be supplied too for an extra £5 each but are not part of the standard L&W factory preparation package.
