For a long time the market for spring loaded and non
turf stumps has been limited to a very traditional
set of metal base, fiddly springs and fragile wooden
stumps. Welcome the revolutionary "Patent Applied
For" Radford Ezy Net range of stumps, based around
a PU base plate and replaceable stumps. Whilst being
slightly more expensive at purchase than the traditional sets they have many advantages including simple repairs (with spare parts readily available), no rusting, increased life time that actually make these items better value in the long run. PU or Polyurethane as it is also known, is a polymer plastic that has a wide range of uses, from the thin sheets of material used to face cricket pads to the thick rubber soles of modern training shoes. PU can be made strong and rigid or softer and more pliable with springy characteristics. This range of new Radford Ezy stumps have a metal base plate for counterbalance, but this is covered in rubberised PU for protection from rust, safety and to allow connection of the special integral spring loaded plastic cones. Various types of PU are used across each base plate, from soft and rubberised to stiffer for the spring sections to solid for the upright supports.
