A modern, innovative design, creating a cricket bat with an elongated uniform sweetspot. The XL bat has big edges (typically 2.5cm) starting just up from the toe and extending 70% up the length of the bat before they taper back into the shoulder, the slightly flattened and squared off spine mirrors the edges from the swollen toe area right up the blade creating a huge spread of wood and a very elongated uniform sweetspot covering most of the blade. The specification is finished off with a gently bowed blade, an oval handle and a thick rubber grip whilst the spread of willow allows for a very good balance and pickup. The XL cricket bat is made from a choice selection of grade 1, naturally air dried English Willow and has 7 or more straight grains and a clean blade. These bats are expertly pressed for ping and performance, and to round off the complete bat package each bat comes with a fitted toe guard and padded full length bat cover.
The Symonds Tusker XL is a bat for those who love driving the ball off of the front and/or back foot and play predominantly vertical upright bat shots. The big lowered swell is ideal for front foot drives, but the uniform rear spine provides more wood right up the blade allowing the ball to hit higher on the blade and still have wood behind it, ideal for back foot drives
or when the ball bounces higher than expected,
either on harder pitches or against the new ball.
