The MATRRIXX Twenty-20 Oz cricket bat has TWO new innovations and 'unique' selling points. Firstly it is part of a new breed of bat profiles being pioneered by leading Indian bat makers, the blade is made 2cm shorter and the handle 2cm longer to give the same overall bat length, however the extra weight of wood lost in the blade length can be incorporated into the blade thickness, providing bats with massive profiles and thick edges. These bats are engineered for the hard hitting shorter form of the game, the longer handle gives more leverage options and the thicker blade gives more power but crucially without making the bats heavier. The general shape is traditional Asian, bowed blade and thick edges but the spine is V-shaped running right into the toe for strength and with slightly concave rear panes to keep the weight low.
The second innovation in this bat is the use of Australian grown willow, that is genuine English willow trees grown from saplings in Australia. The willow looks just like English willow with white blades and excellent grain structure, it is not browner and harder like Kashmir willow, indeed visually it is impossible to tell the difference and performance is unchanged too, however not being traditionally sourced from England the willow is considerably cheaper, all for only £59 supplied
with fitted toe guard and padded bat cover.
